Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, February 21^st , 2018

Welcome: President Paul Snack welcoming Kara McMillan from Revel Realty.

President’s Updates:

Mudfest

• Website and registration are up and running

• Earlybird registration closes March 2

• Please promote through your social media @fonthillrotary and #Mudfest

• Posters are available, please post these at your place of work or in the community

• Paul A will post in prominent places

• FYI the registration fee covers costs of some equipment, the t-shirt

• Bissell’s donates the facilities

• Last year we were able to donate $5000 to Big Brothers/Big Sisters

Bowl for Kids Sake

• Wed, Mar 7^th in Welland – we have a team participating. Also Pen Financial is participating on Sat Mar 3^rd. Contact Paul S as Rotary is putting in at least a four person team. Commitment of $50 per person with the club kicking in $200.

Welland Curling – Feb 20^th

• The curling was a great success

Membership Meeting – Feb 15^th

• Andrew led and will distribute the information

• Key message is that everyone needs to be involved in promoting Rotary and encouraging and inviting new members

• See Paul S if you wish to assist

Calendar

• Please forward important dates to Ken S

Rotaract

• Rotaract is participating Feb 24^th in “Coldest Night of the Year”

• Brianna shared opportunities for donations which are ongoing

Dues

• Randy sent invoices – please ensure that you pay promptly

District Grants Updates:

• The District Grant proposal is on hold for this year

• We will start to plan for next year’s submission now

• Still working on other opportunities to support ELC

• We have earmarked the $2500 which was to be in the District Grant as a matched sum, to support ELC tree planting

• ELC will be encouraged to apply to a Niagara Community Foundation grant

Tour du Lac

• This will take place as a relay on the weekend of July 21^st

• Please contact Paul A if you are interested in being a driver

Wellspring Walk

• This was a successful walk raising over $23,000 with the Pelham walk raising $3,000
