April 18th breakfast meeting is canceled due to joint lunch meeting with St.Catharines. The lunch will take place at Club Roma and will cost $35.
Please let President Paul know if you will be attending as the Club will have to prepare a single cheque to pay for all the lunches of those attending and collect your payment from you. To date 7 of our members will be attending. rotarysnack@clubmember.org

Father’s Day Roses These roses are a specially selected species that are grown locally in Dunnville and will be provided freshly cut for us to deliver on Saturday June 16th, the day before Father’s Day. Fort Erie has negotiated a special price of $20 per dozen DELIVERED. This is a fundraiser for our club as we will realize $7 for every dozen we sell.

April 22nd is Earth Day and the Club will be planting trees, one for every Rotarian. One special tree will be planted by the Interact Club at E.L.Crossley in memory of Sharon Keller. Everyone is invited to attend the ceremony at Crossley, taking place at 2:45pm, on Monday, April 23.

The friendship visit by Rotarians from South Africa will take place from June 27-29. There are 10 in the group, two couples and six individuals. The Rotarians plan to visit our famous falls along with other tourist sites in our region but they will need a bed for three nights. Your responsibility will be to provide a room and breakfast then transport them to a central spot each day where they will convene for a day of site seeing. Two of our members have offered to host so far, please contact President Paul if you are able to assist. rotarysnack@clubmember.org

Speaker
Bob Eamer introduced today’s speaker Mary Sergenese of the Niagara Health and Niagara Health Foundation. Mary is the Development Officer
Leadership Giving.

Niagara Health Foundation fundraises exclusively for Niagara Health; Purchasing essential medical equipment and cutting-edge technology at all Niagara Health hospital sites; funding capital development projects, including the construction of new hospitals and upgrading facilities and supporting special patient care programs and scholarships and bursaries for students and staff studying medical sciences.

Currently there is a fundraising campaign to raise $2.2 million for a new medical imaging equipment as the Niagara Health system does not receive any funds from Government for equipment needs. The Government only covers buildings and operating costs.

Since 2014 they have raised $9.5 million for the purchase of equipment for the Niagara Health System.

Mary gave us a tip on finding the wait times at the Niagara area hospitals. Use this web site to see the wait times https://www.niagarahealth.on.ca/site/waiting-times
