District 7090 Budget
Frank reviewed the changes in the District Budget as a result of the COVID pandemic.  As there will be no travelling for meetings or changeovers events, there is a reduction in the costs incurred at club level.  Clubs are being encouraged to meet virtually for the remainder of 2020 but this is a local decision based on local rules.

Hugh mentioned that the Welland 100th anniversary event is postponed to the spring.

United Way
The United Way has sent a request for a COVID 19 Emergency Response Fund.  Any donations will be matched to the amount of $100,000  by the Humeniuk Foundation.  Mel will connect with the United Way to see if the maximum amount has been reached and if it is possible for our Big Brothers/Big Sisters donation to be matched.

eTransfer Option
Mike updated that this option is still being investigated.

#tagthespirit
Dave provided an update that this social media challenge is working well. Please consider using it to promote activities or events that show Rotary in action.

District Zoom Meetings
Angela and Frank indicated that the District Zoom meetings have some interesting conversations.

Rotary Moment
Maria shared a video - "The Earth is Talking" which Mike has shared in a separate email.  This video reminded Maria of the importance of taking time ot reflect on our environment and how we as Rotary are working to support conservation initiatives. Maria also shared how clubs in the South Pacific have focused on conservation efforts and protecting the environment and work effectively collaboratively.  Maria indicated that Rotary Down Under is a great resource for club members to investigate.  She also shared that the Performing Arts Centre Film House is showing the film "Nature is Us" in a virtual screening.
