Jessie has always been an athlete and wanted to be a police officer. Her life changed back in 2008 when she was involved in a hit and run while on duty as a security officer. She suffered an incomplete spinal cord injury which left her unable to walk. Since then she has done everything she can to be able to walk again. Her determination has paid off and she now walks with the assistance of a Keeogo device and has become one of their ambassadors. Jessie started playing sledge hockey in 2011 and is the goalie for the Canadian Women's sledge hockey team. She is also a fitness coach and trainer and works at the YMCA. As well as being an athlete, Jessie is also a student and already has two college degrees and is currently enrolled in a program at Mohawk College. |
