Friday, June 29, 2018 There was a special get together at Mel and Rick Groom’s house this week. As well as the hand-over meeting for our Club President we had the visiting South African Rotarians in attendance as well as the outgoing District Governor Reg Madison, the incoming District Governor Melisa Schrock and the Mayor of Pelham Dave Augustyn. President Paul lead his last meeting as Club President for the 2017-2018 Rotary Year. The friendship visit: The Rotarians from South Africa had enjoyed two full days in the Niagara area and were leaving. For Kingston on Saturday morning. Banners were exchanged with representatives of all 7 South African clubs. President Paul thanked the host families. Rotarian of the Year: - Brianna Willard was awarded the Rotarian of the Year for Fonthill Rotary Club for her outstanding contributions to the club. Paul Harris sapphires: Mel Groom, Frank Adamson and Bob Eamer wee awarded sapphire Paul Harris pins for their contributions to the Rotary Foundation. Reg Madison, Melisa Schrock and Mayor Dave Augustyn each gave a short speech. Final goodbye to Fede: He will be leaving to go back home to Paraguay next Friday. New member: Teresa Quinlan was inducted into the Club by District Governor Reg. New President: As his last official act President Paul handed over the reigns to our 2018-2019 Club President Mel Groom who was officially inducted by incoming District Governor Melisa. Dues: Rotary dues of $150 cash or $154 by card are due as of July 1st.
