Interact Club of E.L. Crossley collects 935 lbs of items for Pelham Cares!

Original Story:

Once again this year the Interact Club of E.L. Crossley is kicking off their community service by urging the Crossley community to bring in much needed items for Pelham Cares.

The club consists of well over 30 members from all grades and has been brainstorming ways to encourage involvement.  The students have talked about the food insecurity in our own community and are seeking ways to support those most in need recognizing that many are within the walls of Crossley itself.

They have connected with Pelham Cares to see what is needed most, divided these items by grades and are holding friendly competitions between classes and grades to see who can bring in the most items.

Club members will be home baking treats for all of the winning classes.

You may have seen the video that the Interact Club did with Pelham Cares to talk about this program which they are aptly calling "STOCKtober".

How can you help you wonder?
  1. If you either have a student or know a student at Crossley please encourage them and their friends to bring in items.  The graphic shows the items they are focusing on but all non-perishable food items are appreciated.
  2. Please share this news story and our social media posts with your friends in the community to help the students spread the word.
  3.  If you wish personally to donate to this particular collection and do not have a student at Crossley please drop your items off at Pelham Cares and indicate that they are part of the E.L. Crossley STOCKtober food drive.  All items must be received by October 7th.
These students are a fantastic group of young leaders - led by some amazing staff, and anything we can do to help them out will be appreciated.
