It’s official!  The iconic Pelham Summerfest Rotary Arches are completed and have been officially transferred to the Town of Pelham by the Summerfest Committee and the Rotary Club of Fonthill.

The Ribbon-cutting was the perfect celebration of a lengthy process of design, fabrication and erecting of the permanent structure, replacing the temporary structure that was removed several years ago following damage by a windstorm.  The original Arches were constructed as a temporary structure to provide shade and as a central feature for the first four-day version of the Pelham Summerfest festival, held in 2012, to celebrate completion of downtown streetscaping in Fonthill.

Town of Pelham Deputy-Mayor John Wink officiated at the ribbon-cutting ceremony with Rotary Club of Fonthill ‘Raise the Arches’ Organizer Frank Adamson.  The event recognized the many donors and community supporters that made the new Arches a reality.  The donors are also recognized with plaques that are situated on the bases of the Arches.

The weather accommodated participants in the ribbon-cutting with sunshine and gentle breezes as a perfect lead-in to the Grand Finale performance at the Fonthill Bandshell.  Rotary Club of Fonthill volunteers provided drink service in the Suppermarket at the Bandshell event following the Arches Ribbon-cutting.  Summerfest and the Bandshell series are part of the Town of Pelham’s Summer Chill series of events.
