2026-2027 - Create Lasting Impact
As we celebrate 35 years of deeply rooted service, it is an honour to step into the role of President of this amazing Rotary Club of Fonthill.
After attending the flag raising at the beginning of June and hearing the wonderful things being said about our Club and its impact on this community, it made me realize that we are the heartbeat of Pelham. We are not just members of a club who attend 7:30 am meetings together. We are the hands that have helped build trails and arches, the minds that mentor our youth, and the hearts that consistently seek out and answer the call to serve.
We care. We help. We nurture. We create. We build. We share. We collaborate. We truly live the Rotary motto of Service Above Self.
35 years ago our first project was a simple, hopeful act: planting trees in North Pelham. Now, much like those trees, we are deeply rooted in the community, stronger than ever and ready for the next 35 years. Oh how we have flourished.
As we look ahead to the 2026–27 Rotary year, our International President, Olayinka H. Babalola, has given us a powerful, clear directive: to "Create Lasting Impact.” So, how do we take this global vision and bring it home to Fonthill? Looking back I say, we keep doing what we are doing. Using our Rotary 4-Way Test as the compass that guides us, we will continue to ensure that everything we touch leaves a permanent legacy. We will remind ourselves that when we support local food security, literacy, or our youth programs, we are building systems of support that will thrive for generations.
My goal this year is to ensure our club remains a vibrant, welcoming space where every member feels valued and valuable. I want to ensure that everyone feels seen, heard, and understood, so we make a lasting impact on them. This year is about our shared legacy.
Let us challenge ourselves to surpass our past triumphs and create lasting impact. Let us open our arms wider to newcomers, engage with impact in all that we do and humbly share our service stories. Let’s roll up our sleeves and, together, Create Lasting Impact. I’m excited to begin this journey alongside such amazing people.
